If you’ve followed Biggar Bites over the last ten years, you’ve watched this little dream grow in ways I never imagined.
What started with a single catering job has grown into weddings, corporate events, a food trailer, and an eatery. Along the way there have been incredible successes, hard lessons, and more memories than I could ever count.
Like any business, we’ve evolved.
Menus became bigger.
Operations became busier.
The calendar became fuller.
And somewhere along the way, I realized something.
Everything I loved about cooking… little bits of it were slowly floating away.
Not because I stopped loving food.
Not because I stopped loving my customers.
But because I was spending more time managing than creating.
I missed making food with my own hands.
I missed slowing down enough to care about the little things.
The way a bun is sliced.
The way a burger is stacked.
The way mashed potatoes should taste.
The way every plate leaves the kitchen looking like someone was proud to make it.
Those little things matter to me.
They’re the difference between simply serving food and serving something made with heart.
So as Biggar Bites begins this next chapter, I’m making a choice that might seem a little backwards.
I’m simplifying.
You’ll probably notice a smaller menu at the eatery.
You’ll see more weekly features.
More seasonal cooking.
More homemade food.
Not because I can’t make more.
Because I want to make better.
I want to get back to the reason I started this business in the first place.
I want to cook from my heart again.
I want every wedding, every catering event, every burger, every bowl of soup, and every takeout order to leave my kitchen with the same care that built Biggar Bites from day one.
When you open your takeout container, I hope your first thought is:
“Damn… she really does care.”
Because that’s what Biggar Bites has always been about.
Not serving the most food.
Not having the biggest menu.
Just serving food made with pride, honesty, and a whole lot of heart.
